A donation of any size moves the work forward. Large or small, every contribution helps the Foundation build the National Alliance to compel reform of U.S. health care.

Double Your Donation

Many U.S. companies match their employees’ charitable donations. It is estimated that more than $4 billion of employer matching funds go unused every year because employees do not know the programs exist.

If your employer offers a matching program, your donation to the Imperative Foundation can be doubled at no additional cost to you. Ask your human resources department, or check your company’s benefits portal, for information about matching charitable donations.

Many employers are looking for ways to support employees’ charitable interests, and the Foundation’s mission — reducing the cost and increasing the quality of U.S. health care — aligns directly with the challenges employers themselves are facing.

Host a Fundraiser for the Foundation

Anyone can create a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the Imperative Foundation — for a memorial, a community event, a personal milestone, or any reason at all. Donor-Advised Funds

The Foundation welcomes donations through donor-advised funds. If you have a donor-advised fund at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or another sponsoring organization, you can recommend a grant to the Imperative Foundation through your fund’s online interface.

About Tax Deductibility

The Imperative Foundation’s 501(c)(3) status means donations are tax-deductible under IRS rules. Whether you personally benefit from that deduction depends on how you file your taxes.

Approximately 90 percent of U.S. taxpayers take the standard deduction, which means their itemized deductions — including charitable donations — do not reduce their tax bill in practice. The 10 percent who itemize typically do so because their total deductions exceed the standard deduction. Corporations and other entities that donate can generally deduct contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations.
